A sweet village on the Northern California coast…

Another fisherman's house?

Curtain of bouys.

Artistic touch to another house.

Each "angel" has what I assume to be the artist's face peering from behind.

Driving back to Linda's land one day, we noticed these unusual horses grazing.

Wait a minute... are those really zebras?

It was a private animal sanctuary.

There were dozens of them, in such an unlikely setting.

I could even see giraffes in the distance.

One day Kate and I took Bella and Bailey to the beach.

The dogs were hot and thirsty.

Beautiful, but the waves were too strong to let the dogs go swimming.

So we didn't stay long.

Such a beautiful day!

It was a long walk there over grassy hills.

We hurried back to the car where there was water for the dogs.

A quick stop at the lighthouse on the way home.

The lighthouse itself was closed for the day.

But we ran into neighbors of ours who were staying at lodge rooms there.

...cows on a cliff!

Driving away from the lighthouse, we noticed...

But they'll probably just wander right back.

This woman's dogs quickly went to work...

...and herded them back to safety.

That would be a long fall.

These more cautious cows stayed near the road.

It's got a gas station/garage.

There's not a lot to downtown Port Arena, but it's sweet.

Book drop for a very nice little library.

Uneda Eat, "an occasional cafe."

A movie theater.

Bug by the restaurant.

We watched surfers arrive for an evening ride.

And fishermen coming home from a long day's fishing.

The girls watched this boat hoisted up by crane.

A beach shack's deck by the bay.

Equal bits for each.

The girls awaited our leftovers for their dinner.

"Please??"

Such a beautiful spot, it was an evening gathering place for locals.

We watched this man paddle board.

Dinghy tied to the pier.

Sea otter.

When we came back to Port Arena from Cloverdale, we stopped at this restaurant at the pier for dinner.

It made the long drive worth it, but we still had to drive back to Cloverdale.

And this woman catch some waves.

Crab traps.
