One Year on the Road

Longmont is on the edge of the Rockies.

We parked right in front of Marianne and Prudence&#039;s house.

They are right next to train tracks.

When we arrived, Marianne was suited up for bee keeping.

A bee keeper was delivering two new swarms of bees.

He had to get them out of their temporary box...

...and into Marianne&#039;s hives.

He doesn&#039;t even use gloves!

We enjoyed wine an cheese in their front yard.

Their older dog, Archie.

Torny is only three.

Torny wastes no time getting to know Kate.

Their neighbor has gone crazy with the tulip bulbs.

I don&#039;t know what his yard looks like the rest of the year...

But it was a stunning sight in May!

Another neighbor has a large pig in their yard.

One day we drove 30 miles to Estes Park.

It was a beautiful drive.

Estes Park is up in the mountains.

We met a St. Bernard puppy.

We had tea at a tea house.

This shop has clearly been around for decades.

The old theatre.

The famous Stanley Hotel.

It was built in 1909.

We drove into the Rocky Mountain National Park.

On the drive home, this elk stopped us in the road.

He just about came right up to my window.

There were elk on both sides of the road.

They were unperturbed by us.

When we got back, we found that Bailey had made herself quite at home.

One morning M&amp;P took us to the Cheese Importers for breakfast.

They have a huge refrigerated room filled with cheese from around the world.

And lots of kinds of olives.

Another day, we drove into Boulder.

We went to the pedestrian mall downtown.

It&#039;s so beautifully done.

Even the playground is art.

Interesting hat booth.

Beginning of a performance.

This guy was preparing to do some pole tricks.

He got four strong guys to anchor the pole.

He used a whistle to get the audience going.

I stood on planters to get good photos.

He starts up the pole.

Look! No hands!

The audience wants more.

It&#039;s amazing he doesn&#039;t fall.

Now that takes some serious muscles!

The mall was filled with tulips.

This was a great time to year to come.

We dug a few weeds to help out.
