Day trip to a fun historical mining town on a mountainside.

We got this less than desirable site when we pulled in at 10:00.

The next morning, we moved to this site with a nice shade tree.

Verde Valley Thousand Trails RV Resort.

Grand Canyon tease in the distance.

In some ways, it reminded us of a European mountain village.

It's a historic mining town perched high on a mountainside.

Now it's a very cute tourist town.

Since we had Bailey and it was very hot, we didn't go into the museum.

But it was pure Western.

Resting on shady steps.

Some went for thousands of dollars, and all were impressive.

The Nellie Bly store was filled with kalaidoscopes.

Although much of the town has been restored...

Old blast furnace used in the original copper mine.

This fun store was closed that day.

Now there's a fun backyard fountain!

But you could see many treasures in the yard below.

Much of it is still in ruins.

What an interesting town, and the old cars are such rich photography subjects. I had heard of Jerome – my parents visited it years ago, but your photos give a very rich accounting of the place
