We stopped for a night at Hot Springs, Arkansas and toured the Hot Springs National Park bathhouse museum.

We got a tent spot by the river.

We listened to it rushing all night.

We drove up into the park and found this old mill.

Rusty water wheel.

It was next to this sweet bridge.

Tree with a smile.

Old dam.

We went for a walk downtown.

Bank turned into bottled water store.

Looks like this rock had been covered with cement or something.

Fountain by a big hotel.

We took a walk on the promenade.

Relax with a game of checkers.

Behind the bathhouses, it give a better view of the town.

Hot water stream.

This stream bed was dry.

This fountain didn't work.

But this one ran constantly with delicious warm water.

Maxine's is an old-time bar.

Historic shoot-out.

Bill Clinton was born and raised here.

This was a huge military hospital after the Civil War.

The Visitor Center used to be a bath house.

Such ornate windows!

The old bath house is now a fascinating free museum.

Neptune adorned all the windows.

What it looked like in 1888.

You could have a private bath.

Or a shower with multiple heads.

Each shower head can be adjusted separately.

For the infirm, there was a lift.

Before or after, there was a parlour.

Men on one side, women on the other, mingling in the middle.

Proper attire was necessary.

Massages were available with the latest technology.

One of the earliest vibrators.

Pretty hard core.

For a rest, there were staterooms with beds.

A large exercise room with equipment.

Looks like an acrobatic room.

If you preferred to be exercised, there were machines to do that.

These were actually pretty ingenious physical therapy machines.

The bathhouse next door is still open.

For $20 a piece, you can take a public hot tub.

Filling up jugs with warm spring water.

We took the pretty one-way road up to the city tower.

For $8, you can take an elevator to the top.

We chose to stick with the view from below.

Which was still pretty good.
