One Year on the Road

Bringing Our New Baby Home Photos

We flew up to Seattle to pick up our new RV and drive her home.

You have a beautiful home on wheels – I’m jealous. 🙂 Seriously, it is gorgeous. Quite a difference from the little tear drop trailer you had! Good thing to know your height too – and avoid mishaps with underpasses.
We were rving over Thanksgiving up at Heceta with friends. On the way home it was real windy and our awning unfurled. We had never used it. It was manual and we didn’t know how after getting a 60 second lesson when we bought it. We had to cut it off the rig to be able to get home. The frame bent and in the wind there was in, there was no way we were going to get it back in. We didn’t use it so it is not a big loss for us. Had to take the rig to Porter’s in Coos Bay to get the rest of it (frame and where the awning was attached to the roof) taken off. Luckily it didn’t damage the roof – I thought there was a small hole and filled it with Goop (while in the rain) but I guess that held. The joys of RVing.

Good luck with getting your house ready to rent and getting yourselves off on your adventure. A local gal has been traveling around the country in a trailer and posting on FB. It’s been fun to see where she has gone. Looking forward to reading about your adventures too.

    Merry Christmas!

Love seeing more pics! Kate looks so happy, grinning out the window. The pic with the swivel chair and view of green trees through the windshield looks almost fake! You should get something like that to put up there for when you’re parked in a less beautiful location!
